These two collections reprint Clare Briggs’s Ain’t It A Grand And Glorious Feeling and Mr. And Mrs., both originally published by Whitman in 1922.
Clare Briggs rose to fame with what is known as the first comic strip A. Piker Clerk. Mr. And Mrs. ran in his later years. Briggs coined such phrases as “Ain’t It a Grand and Glorious Feeling?, Danny Dreamer, The Days of Real Sport, Movie of a Man, Someone’s Always Taking the Joy Out of Life, There’s at Least One in Every Office, Real Folks at Home and When a Feller Needs a Friend”.
