The Collins Casefiles
by Rick Fletcher and
Max Allan Collins. Chester Gould had just retired from the daily writing and drawing chores on his world famous creation Dick Tracy, yet he stayed on for a year a consultant to the strip. The writing fell to mystery award winning writer Max Allan Collins, and the art was given to Gould's assistant Rick Fletcher. Collins resurrected many of the classic villains from the strips early days and maintained the high level of excitement that Gould had stamped on his strip. Volume 2 reprints complete strips from 1979.

Dick Tracy:
Tracy’s Wartime Memories
by Dick Locher and
Max Allan Collins. Here is the complete six-month sequence (Sundays and dailies
from 3/4 through 9/5/1985) reproduced from syndicate proofs! Tracy recalls his
battles against the most renowned villains of the comic strip world: Mr. and
Mrs. Pruneface and Flattop—with a little Shaky thrown in for good measure. In
bringing us back to the “war years,” writer Max Allan Collins has uncovered some
unfinished business: particularly in the case of Pruneface, who supposedly froze
to death in 1942—but is brought back to life in 1985 by modern scientific
techniques. 8½x11, 64 black and white pages plus square spine color cover ....$5.95
